lva P. Wilson was born in 1920 in the Bronx, New York. She attended boarding school at Dobb's Ferry and after graduating from college with a degree in art education, she joined the US Navy and served in World War II. She was married for 54 years to a sailor from Texas, worked as a librarian, had two children, became a master embroiderer and quilter, learned to play Beethoven on the piano, and traveled throughout the USA and Europe. She currently resides in Florida. This is her first children's book.
